JC Ng (Menlo, 2021) – JC Ng went 0-5 on Saturday in Pomona-Pitzer’s 7-2 loss to Endicott on Sunday, March 12. This snapped a 51 game on base streak that dates back to last season. Ng had reached base in the first 15 games this year and the last 36 games of the 2022 season. The streak lasted over a year of elapsed time, starting on Feburary 19, 2022 in a 4-1 win over Whitworth. Over the 51 games, Ng reached base 118 times (75 hits, 37 BB’s, 6 HBP’s). His longest hitting streak over the 51 games was 20, which he ended the 2022 season on and he amassed 10 HR’s during the span. He will look to start another streak on Monday as Pomona Pitzer takes on Endicott in a double header. Congratulations to JC on the remarkable achievement.
Division 1
JC Agard (Sacred Heart Cathedral, 2022) – Went 4-11 with a double, 2 runs, and 3 rbi’s for Charleston Southern in games against Holy Cross and Georgia. The freshman 3rd baseman is now hitting .340 with 2 HR’s, 10 RBI, and 5 2B’s in 47 plate appearances for the Buccaneers so far this season.
Mario Demera (St. Ignatius, 2020) – Had a 4-hit day, driving in two runs and also scoring twice in San Francisco’s (8-4, 0-0) 13-6 rubber match win against Yale. The junior 3rd baseman boosts his average to .370 for the season and holds a .869 OPS.
Luke Keaschall (Aptos, 2020) – Drove in 5 runs in 5 games while going 8-20 with 3 doubles in Arizona State’s (9-7, 0-0) week against Oklahoma State and UC Davis. The Sun Devils 2nd baseman is now hitting .267 on the season with an OPS of .872. He also leads the team in hit by pitches (4).
Mick Kelly (University, 2021) – Pitched 1.2 scoreless innings while striking out 3 for Yale in his return to his hometown against San Francisco.
Aaron Parker (Los Altos, 2021) – Went 7-16 in UC Santa Barbara’s 4 games this week against Pepperdine, Seton Hall, and Cal Poly while extending his hitting streak to 6 games. Parker now leads the team in hitting (.372), HR’s (4), and SLUG (.744) in 43 at bats this season.
Zander Darby (Palo Alto, 2021) – Added 5 hits in 16 at bats including 2 doubles and a triple for UC Santa Barbara. The sophomore 3rd baseman is hitting .273 on the season with an OPS of .853. The Gauchos are riding a 6-game winning streak and sit at 11-3, 0-0 on the season. The CCB alums (Darby and Parker) are currently hitting 2nd and 3rd in the UCSB lineup.
Division 3
Andrew Ashley (Branson, 2020) – Had 4 hits in 11 at bats in the opening weekend for Middlebury College.
Max Banks – (Stuart Hall, 2021) – Pitched 7 shutout innings for Chapman on Sunday striking out 12 batters while allowing 3 hits and 4 walks against Webster. Banks’s ERA now sits at 4.13 and he has struck out 34 batters in just 24 innings so far this season.
Dom Rolla – (Bellarmine, 2022) – Threw 5.2 scoreless innings and picked up the win in Claremont Mudd-Scripps’s 5-0 win over Macalester on Saturday. He stuck out 10 while allowing 4 hits and 2 walks.
Tyler Shaw (Serra, 2020) – Went 7-16 over 4 games for Claremont Mudd-Scripps while driving in 3 runs and scoring 6 times. Shaw extended his hitting streak to 10 games on Sunday and is now hitting .390 on the season.
Junior College
Brady Wetzel (California, 2022) – Went 5-11 with a triple in 3 games for Chabot. He currently has a 7-game hitting streak and boosted his average to .378 for the season.
