Alumni Update 3/20 – 3/26

Division 1

Dalton Bowling (Kennedy, 2019) Went 7-15 with a HR, a 2B, and drove in 5 for San Jose State (10-9, 4-2) in their sweep of the Saint Louis Billikens this weekend. Bowling is now hitting .329 on the season with 3 HR’s and 22 RBI in 18 games.

Zander Darby (Palo Alto, 2021) – Hit his 4th home run of the season in UC Santa Barbara’s (17-4, 5-1) rubber match victory over Cal State Northridge on Sunday. He is now hitting .291 on the season and holds an OPS of .991. UC Santa Barbara’s win streak was snapped at 11 games on Saturday and they trail UC San Diego (15-6, 6-0) by one game in the conference standings.

Drew Dowd (Serra, 2020) – Picked up a win and a save out of the bullpen for #7 Stanford (15-5, 6-2) in two appearances this weekend. He threw 1.2 innings striking out two while allowing just one baserunner (1 hit). Dowd lowered his ERA to 3.72 and has collected 3 wins and 2 saves on the season.

Luke Keaschall (Aptos, 2020) – The reigning Pac 12 player of the week added 6 more hits in 16 at bats including 2 HR’s and 2 2B’s in games against Grand Canyon and Arizona this week. The Arizona State (16-8, 5-1) 2nd baseman now leads the team in HR’s (7), RBI (27), and stolen bases (8) and has played in all 24 games for the Sun Devils this season.

Mick Kelley (University, 2021) – Pitched 6 scoreless innings without allowing a hit and struck out 7 for Yale (5-12, 2-4) in two appearances against Quinnipiac and Cornell. He lowers his ERA to 2.84 for the season and has pitched his last 8.2 innings scoreless while allowing only 1 hit.

Owen Stevenson (Sacred Heart Cathedral, 2020) – Threw 4 innings across two appearances for Arizona State (16-8, 5-1) allowing 0 earned runs on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 3. Stevenson has not allowed an earned run in his last 9 innings pitched and has struck out 18 hitters over 22 innings pitched this season.

Tommy Troy (Los Gatos, 2020) – Went 5-9 with 3 doubles in #7 Stanford’s (15-5, 6-2) two wins over Utah this weekend. Stanford will go for the sweep Monday at Sunken Diamond. Troy is now hitting .379 on the season with an OPS of 1.124.

Jeter Ybarra (St. Francis, 2020) – Went 4-8 in Washington’s (16-6, 4-2) weekend series at UCLA. He is now hitting .364 (8-22) in 14 appearances for the Huskies.

Division 2

Dylan Day (Santa Rosa, 2020) – Pitched 4 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and two walks, striking out 4 in Chico State’s (12-8, 7-4) 4-3 win over Sonoma State on Sunday. Day lowered his ERA to 3.13 on the season and now was 19 strikeouts against just 7 walks in 23 innings pitched.

Division 3

JC Ng (Menlo, 2021) – Hit his 5th home run of the season in Pomona Pitzer’s (13-11, 4-4) sweep completing victory over Occidental. Ng is now hitting .269 on the season and holds an OPS of .887.

Max Banks (Stuart Hall, 2021) – Earned his 2nd win of the season by throwing 6 innings, allowing 3 runs and striking out 8 in Chapman’s (12-10, 3-3) 6-3 win over Tufts. Banks now has 45 strikeouts in just 35 innings pitched against only 11 walks. His ERA sits at 3.86 for the year.

Junior College

Nate Brouse (Aptos, 2021) – Threw the last 4 innings to pick up the save in Folsom Lake’s (19-5, 7-4) 3-2 victory over Modesto. Brouse allowed 1 run on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 3, bringing his ERA down to 4.43 on the season. The save was his second.

Brady Wetzel (California, 2022) – Went 4-12 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI in Chabot’s series sweep of Canada. Wetzel is now hitting .348 on the season and has stolen 12 bases while only being caught once.
