Alumni Update 4/10 – 4/16
Division 1
Jonah Advincula (Mitty, 2019) – Had 9 hits in 15 at bats including 3 doubles and scored 9 times over 4 games for Washington State (21-13, 7-10) in games against Seattle and Arizona this week. The week boosts his average to .361 and his .OPS now sits at 1.018 in 33 games this season.
Logan Azem (Serra, 2020) – Extended his hitting streak to 8 games with a 9th inning single for San Francisco (14-17, 5-10) in Sunday’s loss to Pepperdine. He is now hitting .308 (8-26) on the season.
Dalton Bowling (Kennedy, 2019) – Added two more home runs (7) and 7 RBI (35) this week while hitting 7-22 over 5 games against #18 UC Santa Barbara and UNLV. The San Jose State (18-13, 11-4) junior is now hitting .306 on the season and also leads the team in SLUG (.573) and .OPS (.946).
Drew Dowd (Serra, 2020) – Threw 5 innings allowing 0 runs on just 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 9 over two appearances for #11 Stanford (23-10, 11-4) against #21 Texas Tech and #16 Oregon. He has now struck out 39 hitters in just 31.2 innings this year.
Luke Keaschall (Aptos, 2020) – Went 4-11 with 3 doubles, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored in #8 Arizona State’s (25-10, 11-3) 3 games against Grand Canyon and Washington. He also added his team leading 13th stolen base of the season. The Sun Devil’s 2nd baseman is now hitting .341 on the year with an .OPS of 1.058.
Aaron Parker (Los Altos, 2021) – Had 6 hits in 19 at bats over 5 games for #18 UC Santa Barbara (22-11, 7-5) against San Jose State and UC Irvine this week. He is leading the team in hitting (.330) and his .OPS now sits at .981 for the Gauchos this season.
Jared Quandt (Los Gatos, 2020) – Went 3-9 with a double and scored 5 times in Hawaii’s (16-12, 6-5) series win over UC San Diego. He is now hitting a team leading .358 on the season and also leads the team in .OBP at .476.
Division 3
Lou Martineau (Burlingame, 2022) – Went 4-12 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI for Occidental (5-26, 3-15) over 3 games against Whittier. He also stole two bases to add to his team leading total (10). Martineau is hitting .315 on the season with an .OPS of .878.
Tristan Kim (St. Francis, 2022) – Picked up 2 wins this week by throwing 11 shutout innings over two appearances for Amherst (14-8-1, 4-2). One of these outings was a start in which he threw 8 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9 Williams hitters. Kim lowers his ERA to 3.67 on the season and has struck out 23 hitters over 27 innings.
Dom Rolla (Bellarmine, 2022) – Earned his 3rd win of the season by throwing 6 innings, allowing one earned run on 8 hits and a walk, while punching out 7 in Claremont Mudd-Scripps’s (21-7, 11-4) 10-3 over Redlands on Saturday. He has now struck out 33 hitters over 30.1 innings so far this season.
Tyler Shaw (Serra, 2020) – Had 5 more hits in 13 at bats including a double and 3 RBI in Claremont Mudd-Scripps’s (21-7, 11-4) sweep of Redlands. He is now hitting .388 on the season. By earning a hit in every game of the series, he extends his on base streak to 28 games to start the season.
Junior College
James Bose (Leigh, 2022) – Hit his first college career home run while going 5-10 in West Valley’s (16-18, 8-7) series win over San Mateo. The freshman infielder has played in 25 games and accumulated 94 at bats for the Vikings this season.
Nate Brouse (Aptos, 2021) – Picked up a win and a save and appeared in all 3 games in Folsom Lake College’s (25-9, 13-8) sweep of Santa Rosa. He now has 6 saves and holds a 2-1 record on the season with an ERA of 3.72.
DJ Ghiorso (Serra, 2021) – Collected 5 hits in 12 at bats including two doubles in Santa Barbara City’s (22-12, 12-6) sweep of Moorpark. He also drove in 2 and scored twice. Ghiorso raises his average to .342 on the season and leads the team in SLUG (.514) and stolen bases (15).
Fred Ramos (2021, San Leandro) – Hit his 3rd home run of the season while going 5-13 with 5 runs scored for Chabot (24-10-1, 11-4) in their series win over Skyline. His average now sits at .286 and his .OPS at .832.
PK Walsh (Serra, 2021) – Went 6-11 with 2 RBI and scored 3 times in Santa Barbara City’s (22-12, 12-6) sweep of Moorpark. He is now hitting .308 on the year in a team high 120 at bats and leads the team in RBI with 26.
