Alumni Update 3/27 – 4/2

Division 1

Jonah Advincula (Mitty, 2019) – Hit his 3rd home run of the season while going 3-8, scoring twice, and adding 2 RBI in Washington State’s (17-9, 5-6) two wins over UCLA this weekend (game 3 postponed). Jonah raises his average to .320 on the season and leads the team in stolen bases with 10.

Dawson Brigman (Valley Christian, 2018) – Went 5-13 with a home run, his 4th, for Santa Clara (13-10, 4-5) against Loyola Marymount. Brigman raises his average to a team leading .326 and his .OPS sits at 1.014 for the year.

Nico Button (Serra, 2021) – Earned his first career start as the DH and made the most of it going 2-3 with a double and an RBI in Cal’s (11-12, 3-9) 15-10 loss to Arizona State.

Zander Darby (Palo Alto, 2021) – Hit his 5th home run of the season in #11 UC Santa Barbara’s (18-6, 5-1) 13-5 win over Fresno State. He is now hitting .286 on the season with an .OPS of .967.

Mario Demera (St. Ignatius, 2020) – Had 6 hits in 13 at bats, scored 6 times, and drove in 6 in San Francisco’s (12-11, 3-6) series win over Pacific. Demera now leads the team in hitting (.378) and OBP (.476).

Luke Keaschall (Aptos, 2020) – Went 5-16 with a double, 3 runs, 2 RBI, and added 2 SB’s in his return to the Bay Area in #16 Arizona State’s (19-9, 7-2) series win at Cal. He is now hitting .330 on the season and leads the team in HR’s (7), RBI (29) and SB’s (10).

Mick Kelley (University, 2021) – Started and threw 6.1 innings for Yale (9-12, 4-2) allowing only 1 run on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4 hitters in the Bulldog’s 14 inning, 4-3 win over Sacred Heart. The outing lowered his ERA to 2.37 and opponents are only hitting .191 against him so far this season.

Ryan Lee (St. Francis, 2022) – Went 5-15 in 4 games for UC Davis (9-14, 3-6) against Loyola Marymount and Cal State Bakersfield to boost his average to .280 (7-25) on the season. Added 2 RBI and also scored 4 times for the Aggies.

Aaron Parker (Los Altos, 2021) Hit his team leading 6th and 7th home runs of the season in #11 UC Santa Barbara’s (18-6, 5-1) weekend series with Fresno State. Parker is now leading the team in hitting (.333), HR’s (7), SLUG (.667) and .OPS (1.086).

Jared Quandt (Los Gatos, 2020) – Went 2-6 with a triple, an RBI, and scored twice in 3 appearances for Hawaii (13-10, 3-3) against Cal State Fullerton. The switch hitter is now hitting .375 with an .OBP of .486 in 56 at bats this season to lead the team in both categories.

Tommy Troy (Los Gatos, 2020) – Went 9-18 with a home run, a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 8 runs and driving in 4 in #10 Stanford’s (18-7, 7-2) 4-game series split with Oklahoma. He is now leading the team in hitting (.413) and boosted his .OPS to 1.188 on the season. He has also stolen all 10 bases in his 10 attempts.

Jeter Ybarra (St. Francis, 2020) – Added 4 hits in 11 at bats, including a double, and started all 3 games for Washington (18-8, 5-4) this weekend against Oregon State. He is now hitting .375 (12-32) and has started the last 5 conference games for the Huskies.

Division 2

Antonio Nanez (Los Gatos, 2021) – Went 3-5 with a run scored and an RBI in a start and pinch-hit appearance for San Francisco State (16-11, 9-10) in their 4-game series win against Cal State-Los Angeles. The 3-hit weekend raises his average to .300 (9-30) on the season.

Division 3

Max Banks (Stuart Hall, 2021) – Picked up his 3rd win of the season throwing 7 innings allowing 1 run on just 3 hits and a walk, while striking out 7 in Chapman’s (15-10, 6-3) 7-2 win over Redlands. Banks lowered his ERA to 3.43 on the season and has now punched out 52 hitters in 42 innings while walking only 12.

JC Ng (Menlo, 2021) – Had 6 hits in 11 at bats with 2 doubles, 4 runs, and 4 RBI in Pomona-Pitzer’s (15-12, 6-5) series win over Cal Tech. Ng is now hitting .298 with an .OPS of .943 on the season.

Dom Rolla (Bellarmine, 2022) – Stuck out 7 hitters over just 3.2 innings allowing one earned run in Claremont Mudd Scripps’s (18-7, 8-4) 13-10 win over Whittier.

Tyler Shaw (Serra, 2020) – Had only 2 hits in 11 at bats this week, but scored 5 times and earned 4 walks to extend his on base streak to start the season to 25 games. Shaw is hitting .389 for Claremont Mudd Scripps (18-7, 8-4) this year.

Junior College

Dane Anderson (San Mateo, 2021) – Hit his 3rd home run of the season while going 4-11 with 3 RBI in Skyline’s (21-7, 6-3) sweep of San Francisco. He is now hitting .368 on the season and leads the team with a .479 OBP.

Nate Brouse (Aptos, 2021) – Picked up 2 more saves in his 3 innings over 2 appearances for Folsom Lake College (21-7, 9-6) in their series win over Delta. He has now saved 4 of the last 5 games for Folsom Lake while lowering his season ERA to 3.86 in 23.1 innings pitched this season.

Antonio Carter (Bishop O’Dowd, 2022) – Hit his 1st college career home run in San Mateo’s (21-7, 5-4) 6-5 win over Canada. He is now hitting .333 (12-36) on the season.

Matty Fung (Serra, 2020) – Hit his 1st home run of the season for Santa Barbara City (18-9, 9-5) while driving in 3 and scoring twice in a win over LA Pierce.

Ivan Herrera (Sacred Heart Cathedral, 2022) – Went 4-12 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI in Canada’s (16-12-1, 4-5) weekend series win over San Mateo. He is now hitting .272 on the season in 103 at bats.

Caovinh Nguyen (Mission San Jose, 2022) – Hit his 3rd home run of the season in Ohlone’s (18-6-1, 6-0) 17-7 win over De Anza. He is now hitting .419 with an .OBP of .591 in 45 plate appearances so far this season. The Renegades are currently riding a 10-game winning streak.

PK Walsh (Serra, 2021) – Went 6-13 with a double and drove in 7 runs in Santa Barbara City’s (18-9, 9-5) 3-win week over Allan Hancock and LA Pierce. Walsh boosts his average to .283 on the season and has started all 27 games for the Vaqueros this year.

Fred Ramos (San Leandro, 2021) – Had 5 hits in 13 at bats including a home run and scored 3 times in Chatbot’s (20-8-1, 7-2) series win over West Valley.

Brady Wetzel (California, 2022) – Went 4-11 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI in Chabot’s (20-8-1, 7-2) series win against West Valley. Wetzel boosts his average to .355 in 76 at bats on the season.
