Alumni Update 4/17 – 4/23

MLB

James Outman (Los Angeles Dodgers) – Hit his first career grand slam in the 9th inning of the Dodgers 6-2 win over the Cubs. His 2nd home run of the game, and 5th home run of the season ended up being the game winner. Outman is now hitting .311 on the season with 7 home runs and 19 RBI with an .OPS of 1.103. The 25 year old out of Serra High School and Sacramento State has played in all 23 games for the Dodgers this season.

Division 1

Jonah Advincula (Mitty, 2019) – Went 5-15 with a double, a triple, 4 runs scored, and 4 RBI for Washington State (24-14, 7-10) in 4 games against Gonzaga and Santa Clara. He also stole two bases and is now 14-15 (sb-sba) on the season to lead the team in that category. Jonah is hitting .358 with an .OPS of 1.017 in 37 games played and is currently riding a 9-game hitting streak and 16-game on base streak.

Zander Darby (Palo Alto, 2021) – Had 6 hits in 17 at bats for #13 UC Santa Barbara (25-12, 10-5) in 4 games against Pepperdine and UC San Diego. He is hitting .274 on the season with an .OPS of .846 and has started every game for the Gauchos this season, leading the team in at bats with 142.

Mario Demera (St. Ignatius, 2020) – Hit is 1st home run of the season while going 6-18 on the week over 4 games for San Francisco (14-21, 5-13) against Cal and San Diego. He leads the team in hitting with a .375 average and has started all 35 games for the Dons this season.

Drew Dowd (Serra, 2020) – Threw 3.2 innings over two outings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and a walk while punching out 9 for #11 Stanford (25-12, 13-5) in their series win over Washington. He is now 5-2 on the season and has 48 strikeouts in 35.1 innings pitched.

Luke Keaschall (Aptos, 2020) – Had another monster week going 8-17 with 3 HR’s, 4 2B’s, 4 runs scored, and 8 RBI in 4 games for #4 Arizona State (27-12, 13-4) against Arizona and Oregon State. He now has a team leading 10 home runs and is currently hitting .355 on the season with an .OPS of 1.132 and has started all 39 games for the Sun Devils.

Reed Moring (Aptos, 2022) – Pitched 4.1 innings in relief and picked up the win in #13 UC Santa Barbara’s (25-12, 10-5) 11-5 win over UC San Diego on Sunday allowing just one run on 4 hits and a walk. The freshman is now 3-1 on the season and has thrown 37 innings in 9 appearances for the Gauchos.

Aaron Parker (Los Altos, 2021) – Hit his 8th and 9th home runs of the season in Sunday’s sweep completing 11-5 win for #13 UC Santa Barbara (25-12, 10-5) over San Diego. He is hitting .320 on the season with an .OPS of .977.

Owen Stevenson (Sacred Heart Cathedral, 2020) – Threw 3 scoreless innings over two appearances for #4 Arizona State (27-12, 13-4) against Oregon State. He allowed 2 hits and 2 walks over the 3 innings while striking out 5.

Tommy Troy (Los Gatos, 2020) – Added two home runs to his season total (6), including a 16th inning walk-off home run in #11 Stanford’s (25-12, 13-5) Saturday win over Washington. He went 7-20 in 4 games this week bringing his average to .385 on the season and .OPS to 1.094.

Division 2

Dylan Day (Santa Rosa, 2020) – Picked up the win in his Sunday start for Chico State (16-21, 10-17) by throwing 5 innings and allowing just 1 run on 5 hits and a walk against #23 Cal State-San Bernandino. Day is now 2-1 and holds a 3.63 era for the season over 34.2 innings.

Antonio Nanez (Los Gatos, 2021) – Went 4-6 with 2 RBI for San Francisco State (24-15, 17-14) in Saturday’s double header sweep of Chico State. Nanez boosts his average to .275 over 51 at bats this season.

Division 3

Lou Martineau (Burlingame, 2022) – Went 4-12 with a double, an RBI, and a run for Occidental (5-29, 3-18) over 3 games against Claremont Mudd Scripps. He is leading the team in hitting (.317) and stolen bases (11) as a freshman.

Tyler Shaw (Serra, 2020) – Went 5-15 with 3 runs and 3 RBI in Claremont Mudd-Scripps’s (24-7, 14-4) sweep of Occidental. He is now hitting .385 on the season. Shaw’s hitting streak was snapped at 6 games, but his on base streak to start the season is still intact at 31 games.

Junior College

Dane Anderson (San Mateo, 2021) – Hit his 4th home run of the season in Skyline’s (25-12, 10-8) 6-5 loss to Canada. He is hitting .342 on the season and has earned an .OPS of .995 to go along with 12 stolen bases.

Ethan Bergan (Menlo Atherton, 2022) – Had 7 hits in 14 at bats with a double, 2 RBI, and 2 runs over three games for Skyline (25-12, 10-8). He is now hitting .323 on the season with an .OPS of .854 in 124 at bats.

James Bose (Leigh, 2022) – Went 4-10 with a triple, 3 runs scored and an RBI in 3 games for West Valley (16-21, 8-10). The freshman is hitting .240 in 104 at bats this season.

Antonio Carter (Bishop O’Dowd, 2022) – Went 5-12 with 3 runs scored and an RBI for San Mateo (26-11, 10-8). He raises his average to .351 on the season in 74 at bats with an .OPS of .961 and has taken over the role of the team’s starting left fielder.

Christian Machado (Heritage, 2021) – Through 4.2 scoreless innings for Diablo Valley, allowing 4 hits and a walk while striking out 6 in two appearances against De Anza. He lowers his ERA to 4.21 and has now struck out 32 hitters in just 25.2 innings this season.

Zach Teijeiro (St. Francis, 2020) – Scored 3 times while going 3-7 with a double over 2 games for Skyline (25-12, 10-8). He boosts his average to .279 on the year and has added 3 home runs for the Trojans this season.
