Lucas Erceg (Oakland Athletics) – Made his Major League debut, throwing an inning Friday night at Houston. He followed that up with 0.2 innings on Sunday and has allowed 1 run and struck out 3 in 1.2 innings pitched. The 28-year old spent his last 7 seasons in the minor leagues before getting the call up after being drafted by the Brewers in the 2nd round of the 2016 MLB Draft as a position player. Out of Westmont High School (Campbell, CA), before continuing on to Cal and Menlo College, Lucas’s story is truly one of perseverance. Congratulations to Lucas Erceg on making his Major League debut. Division 1
Zander Darby (Palo Alto, 2021) – Hit his 7th home run of the season while going 4-12 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored in UC Santa Barbara’s (35-17, 18-9) series win over Cal Poly. He is now hitting .294 on the season in a team-leading 204 at bats. With a sweep of Hawaii this coming weekend, UCSB would clinch a tie for the Big West title.
Mario Demera (St. Ignatius, 2020) – Went 4-12 with 2 doubles in San Francisco’s (18-29, 8-19) weekend series with Portland. Mario finishes the season leading the team in hitting (.348) and .OBP (.427), while starting all 47 games for the Dons.
Drew Dowd (Serra, 2020) – Pitched 3 more scoreless innings, striking out 4 and allowing 0 hits in #2 Stanford’s (37-14, 23-7) Friday night win over Washington State. Dowd also picked up his 9th win of the season and has now earned the win in 4 consecutive appearances. He has allowed just 3 earned runs in his last 21 innings pitched, striking out 34 hitters over the span. His season ERA sits at 4.41.
Luke Keaschall (Aptos, 2020) – Homered for the 17th time this season and added 2 doubles while going 5-13 with 4 RBI in Arizona State’s (31-22, 16-13) series win over UCLA. He finishes the regular season leading the team in home runs (17), SLUG (.722), .OPS (1.162), and stolen bases (17-19).
Patrick Keighran (Serra, 2021) – Hit his 5th and 6th homers of the season and drove in 4 while going 4-8 over two starts for San Francisco (18-29, 8-19) against Portland. He finishes the season hitting .252 over 103 at bats and an .OPS of .867.
Aaron Parker (Los Altos, 2021) – Reached double digit home runs by hitting his 10th on Sunday in UC Santa Barbara’s (35-17, 18-9) 9-5 loss to Cal Poly. He went 3-7 on the weekend to raise his average to .318 and .OPS to .975.
Owen Stevenson (Sacred Heart Cathedral, 2020) – Picked up the wins in both of Arizona State’s (31-22, 16-13) victories over UCLA this weekend to improve his record to 6-3. He threw 4 innings over 2 outings allowing just one run on two hits and a walk, while striking out 3.
Tommy Troy (Los Gatos, 2020) – Hit 9-11 with 2 home runs, a double, 6 RBI and scored 8 times in #2 Stanford’s (37-14, 23-7) sweep of Washington State. The monster weekend raises his average to .404 on the season to lead the Cardinal. Troy’s two homers give him 13 on the season and his .OPS sits at 1.205. He is also leading the team in stolen bases with 16 in 17 attempts.
Junior College
Nate Brouse (Aptos, 2021) – Pitched 1.1 innings scoreless in Folsom Lake’s series clinching win over Delta. The closer lowers his ERA to 3.99 on the season and is headed to the Junior College state championship.
