Top Story
James Outman (Los Angeles Dodgers) – Named National League Rookie of the Month for April. Hit .292 for the month with 7 HR’s and 20 RBI. He started 26 of the Dodgers 29 games and made an appearance in all 29. James had a 2 HR, 5 RBI day, which included a 9th inning, game-winning grand slam against the Cubs on April 19 in the Dodgers 6-2 win. His .991 OPS for the month of April led all rookies and trailed only Max Muncy (1.070) for the team lead. Congratulations to James on this achievement. Full Story
Division 1
Dalton Bowling (Kennedy, 2019) – Hit his team leading 9th home run in San Jose State’s (22-22, 15-11) 7-2 win over San Diego State on Sunday. He is also leading the team in RBI with 42 and is hitting .287 for the Spartans this season.
Zander Darby (Palo Alto, 2021) – Went 5-16, including his 6th home run of the season, a triple, and scored 5 times in #20 UC Santa Barbara’s (30-14, 15-6) 2-2 week with Cal Baptist and UC Riverside. They now sit 2 games back of Cal State Fullerton for 1st place in the Big West standings. Darby is hitting .283 with an .OPS of .863.
Drew Dowd (Serra, 2020) – Picked up his 6th win of the season on Saturday coming out of the bullpen to pitch 3 innings for #4 Stanford (31-13, 18-6) against Arizona State. Dowd allowed 1 run on 2 hits and 1 walk over the three innings, while striking out 3. He has allowed 3 earned runs and struck out 26 in his last 15.1 innings pitched.
Luke Keaschall (Aptos, 2020) – Added 2 more home runs to his season total (16) for Arizona State (29-18, 14-9) against #4 Stanford. He now leads the Pac 12 in overall home runs (16), conference home runs (12), SLUG in conference play (.906) and is third in conference batting average (.396).
Reed Moring (Aptos, 2022) – Pitched 6 scoreless innings over 2 appearances and picked up his 4th win of the season for #20 UC Santa Barbara (30-14, 15-6) against Cal Baptist and UC Riverside. Over the 6 innings he struck out 7 while allowing just two hits and 3 walks. He has allowed just 1 earned run over his last 11.1 innings pitched.
Aaron Parker (Los Altos, 2021) – Went 6-16 with a double, 4 runs, and 3 RBI for #20 UC Santa Barbara (30-14, 15-6) over 4 games against Cal Baptist and UC Riverside. He is now hitting .333 on the season with an .OPS of .980.
Jared Quandt (Los Gatos, 2020) – Hit his 4th home run of the season while going 5-11 with 5 RBI and 3 runs over 4 games for Hawaii (22-18, 11-10) against Pepperdine and UC Irvine. He raises his average to a team leading .314 and his .OBP to .441, which also leads the team.
Tommy Troy (Los Gatos, 2020) – Homered in all three games for #4 Stanford (31-13, 18-6) in their weekend sweep of Arizona State to bring his season total to 10. On the weekend he went 6-13, with all 6 hits being for extra bases, scored 7 times and drove in 6. He is now hitting .389 on the season and holds an .OPS of 1.153.
Division 3
Max Banks (Stuart Hall, 2021) – Earned his 5th win of the season by pitching 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and two walks while striking out 7 in Chapman’s (26-14, 17-7) 8-3 win over Cal Lutheran. His ERA now sits at 3.47 for the season and he has struck out 76 hitters in 70 innings to just 23 walks.
Will Kinney (Serra, 2022) – Went 4-8 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI for Pomona Pitzer (21-19, 12-12) in their series sweep of Whittier. The Sagehens shortstop raises his average to .296 on the season and his on base percentage to .441.
Lou Martineau (Burlingame, 2022) – Finished his season by going 4-11 with a double and a run in Occidental’s (5-35, 3-21) weekend series with Willamette. Lou closes the season as the team leader in average (.324) and stolen bases (12). His .OPS was .882 on the season.
Jimmy Moore (Los Gatos, 2021) – Threw 6 innings over three appearances allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 10 and picking up a win for MIT (16-21, 9-8). He has now struck out 28 hitters in just 16.2 innings so far this season.
JC Ng (Menlo Atherton, 2021) – Hit two home runs on Friday to bring his season total to 8 in Pomona Pitzer’s (21-19, 12-12) 9-2 win over Whittier. He drove in 4 in the game and now has 37 RBI on the season in 40 games played. JC is hitting .308 and has an .OPS of .960.
Dom Rolla (Bellarmine, 2022) – Earned his 4th win of the season (4-0) by throwing 6 scoreless innings allowing 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7 in Claremont Mudd Scripps’s (28-9, 18-6) 4-2 win over La Verne. He now has 54 strikeouts in 45.1 innings this season.
Tyler Shaw (Serra, 2020) – Had his on-base streak snapped at 43 games in Claremont Mudd Scripps’s (28-9, 18-6) 4-2 win over La Verne. He is hitting .394 on the season with an .OBP of .462, which leads the team.
Junior College
Ethan Bergan (Menlo Atherton, 2022) – Had 4 hits in 8 at bats including a double and a triple in #14 Skyline’s playoff series loss to #11 Mission. Bergan finishes the season with a .333 average in 141 at bats and had 16 extra base hits on the season. He had 27 RBI in 39 games played.
Antonio Carter (Bishop O’Dowd, 2022) – Had two doubles in route to a 3-7 weekend in #9 San Mateo’s playoff series loss to #17 Modesto. Carter took over the starting left field job and did not relinquish it hitting .356 with 2 HR and 15 RBI in 34 games for the Bulldogs this season.
Brady Wetzel (California, 2022) – Went 4-8 with 2 doubles in #4 Chabot’s playoff series loss to #21 Sacramento City. Wetzel finishes the season hitting .318 with 20 RBI in 110 at bats.
