CCB Players Named Cal-Hi Sports Player/Pitcher of the Year
Carter Johnstone (’24, Los Gatos), Devin Saltzgaber (’25, Sacred Heart Prep) Named Cal-Hi Sports Player/Pitcher of the Year
Current CCB Infielder Carter Johnstone (2024, Los Gatos) and Pitcher Devin Saltzgaber (2025, Sacred Heart Prep) were named Cal-Hi Sports Player and Pitcher of the Year respectively on Monday.
Carter guided Los Gatos to a 20-8 overall record and 13-1 conference record by leading the SCVAL – De Anza Division in hitting (.464) and on base percentage (.591). The junior infielder also hit 4 home runs on the season, including 2 grand slams in the same week, and added 11 2B’s and 2 3B’s to earn an .OPS of 1.377. The Wildcats won the conference title and were selected as the #4 seed in CCS Division 1 Playoffs.
Devin finished the regular season with a perfect 11-0 record for Sacred Heart Prep and led the Gators to Peninsula Athletic League – Ocean Division title with a 12-2 conference record. The sophomore’s current ERA is 1.12 for the year in 68.2 innings pitched. He has thrown 5 complete games, 3 of which were shutouts, and pitched the Gators through their first round CCS playoff win against Carlmont. Sacred Heart Prep will take on Branham in the Division 3 semi-final on Thursday.
